Chinese investments
China is a fascinating country: the world’s most populous country, a territory twice as big as the European Union and a very complex culture.
But China is also the world’s second-largest economy. At the dawn of 2000, the government implemented the “go abroad” policy in order to encourage Chinese companies to invest outside the country.
This documentary aims to explain why these investments trigger so much interest, be it fear or enthusiasm, among the politicians, the businessmen, the media and the population in the European Union.
Why are the Chinese attracted by European companies? Should we welcome their investments as an opportunity or fear them as a threat? And most of all is China buying Europe?
These are some of the questions that we want to answer in our video.
