Eight Journalism students are awarded an ARES grant for the #RabatBondyBlog project

For the third year in a row, the writing team of the Bruxelles Bondy Blog relocated to Morocco for a week-long immersion alongside ISIC students from Rabat. The Moroccan students then made a reciprocal visit to Brussels.

The purpose of this exchange is to get to know how others live, to explore their culture and to gain an insight into how they practise journalism.

As part of this exchange, eight students from the Journalism department, supervised by Nicolas Bindelle and Amandine Degand, designed an editorial project focused on youth as it is experienced on the other side of the Mediteranean. For this project they wanted 100% "MoJo" (or mobile journalism). In other words, they set themselves the challenge of producing all reports using a smartphone, an ideal tool for getting in touch with people easily. In order to realise this ambition, however, it was necessary to acquire some specific equipment, such as lapel microphones, stabilisers and portable batteries.

To carry out their project, the students applied for and were awarded a micro-project grant from ARES. Congratulations to them! You can find all the reports produced as part of this project on the BBB website.
