The International Exchanges Office is also back!

Around sixty international students have chosen IHECS as the host for their exchange visit. Students from Denmark, the UK, Portugal, Flanders in Belgium, South Korea and Ecuador will have the opportunity to follow our programme in English, while Canadians, Parisians and some other Europeans can enrol in a selection of courses delivered in French. All of these exchanges have been made possible thanks to the hundreds of interinstitutional agreements that IHECS has signed with various universities.

Around twenty refugees or asylum seekers have also had the opportunity to follow a defined programme, in French or English, which will give them access to a certificate. These new students come from all over the world.

The students include various professionals who have come with the desire to improve themselves while they are with us. This is the case with two employees of the independent newspaper "Le Souverain", based in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Christian KIKA KITUNGANO, a journalist, and Yves KULONDWA, a caricaturist, will participate in academic activities within the Journalism department, with a programme of theoretical courses and practical workshops over the next three months.

Finally, three people from Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso will be pursuing different courses at our institution. Halizata SANA, Professor at the University of Ouagadougou, is enrolled on the Master’s Degree in Media Literacy to prepare for the upcoming course that she will give. Yvonne NANEMA was chosen for her excellent work as a student in Information and Communication Sciences in Ouagadougou. She will complete her training with us by attending courses in the Master’s Degree in Public Relations. Moussa TRAORE, programme director of Radio Campus at the University of Ouagadougou, is coming mainly to enrich his knowledge in the field of sound and radio editing.

These last five exchanges were made possible thanks to the work placement scholarships at institutions of higher education by ARES. These make it possible to welcome students in a specialisation who are attracted by an immersion in a complementary programme. The specific objectives of the Académie De Recherche Et D'Enseignement Supérieur (Academy of Research and Higher Education/ARES) in terms of this project geared towards the 18 countries associated with ARES are the institutional reinforcement of Southern actors by capacity building through quality training through mobility, as well as strengthening networks and partnerships.
