One-day meeting between our PR students and students from the University of Lille

09.03.2023
On 3rd March, the PR Department welcomed Infocom student apprentices from the University of Lille. This meeting allowed students from both institutions to discuss media briefs.

As soon as they arrived, the 15 student apprentices from Infocom Lille were welcomed by the 150 first-year PR Master’s students. They spent the day working together analysing some questions provided by their sponsors for media briefs in Public Relations, which include organisations such as the European Commission, Carrefour, La Monnaie, Amnesty international, Le Centre du Cinéma et de l'Audiovisuel de la FWB, TheMerode, hub.brussels, Les Petites Françaises, Kéfir Eau Vertueuse, Valbiom, Exclusive places in Brussels, Reset Paris, Make-A-Wish and Solidarité Grands Froids.

Given that these student apprentices work part-time in a company, they were able to share their professional experience and compare ideas with IHECS students. They also benefited from coaching with the department that supervises media briefs. These exchanges allowed students to better understand cultural differences and the nuances of communication in different contexts.

"These meetings between our students are a real asset and the partnership we have with the Infocom Lille department is set to develop, in particular through future exchanges on the ethics of communication," explains Elise Le Moing-Maas, President of the Public Relations Department.

This one-day meeting was organised in collaboration with Patrice de La Broise, Professor of Information and Communication Sciences at the University of Lille: "Even if the geographical distance between Lille and Brussels is not so great, the Franco-Belgian meeting of Infocom Lille apprentices and IHECS students represents an undeniable and extremely formative intercultural exchange. Along with the variety of sponsors from multiple professional sectors, preparation for "media briefs" represents a wonderful opportunity for collective testing of academic knowledge. On the strength of this successful experiment, the Erasmus+ programme associating IHECS and the University of Lille will now be completed over two consecutive years and will be further enriched with new content. Thank you and congratulations to you all!".
