"Express" visit to Tunisia
This trip essentially consisted of laying the foundations for an educational and technical partnership with the Central University of Tunis and its school of communication (journalism). The Central University of Tunis is the first private university in Tunisia. It is one of the members of the Honoris educational group, an entity that develops its training activities through around twenty institutions in six African countries. In addition to several entire universities, the group organises training in specialised schools: art, architecture, business, IT and health sciences.
The Central University of Tunis has been eager to collaborate with IHECS in order to develop its bachelor’s and master’s degrees in journalism. Project-based teaching, laboratories and workshops, the digital dimension in terms of training, and teaching new languages are aspects that have captured the attention of academic authorities. The aim is to formalise the partnership from the start of the 2022 academic year.

The IHECS delegation also met with the heads of IPSI (Institut de Presse et des Sciences de l’Information) in Tunis. IPSI and IHECS have been collaborating for many years now, particularly in the organisation of courses in Tunis, and in the near future IHECS students will be visiting Tunis to participate face-to-face in a production workship with their Tunisian, not to mention Moroccan and French, counterparts.
And it was finally possible to meet with the WBI delegate in Tunis, Christian Saelens, whose support and knowledge of local institutions is greatly appreciated.
