On 23 April, our students and those of the UIR, their teachers and communication professionals gathered to attend the "Public communication in Morocco, Realities and perspectives, Belgian-Moroccan cross-views" conference.

This meeting, which His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Ameur, Ambassador of Morocco to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg did us the honour of introducing, forms part of the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Belgian-Moroccan bilateral agreement on the recruitment of workers.

After the contextualisations of Jean-François Raskin, General Manager of IHECS and Professor Farid El Asri, Dean of the College of Social Sciences of the UIR, a debate began around ambient theses and a sharing of experiences on the notion of public communication in Belgium and Morocco.

Christopher Barzal, partner specialising in corporate affairs at Akkanto, Najlae Benmbarek, communications consultant at Nota Bene Consulting, Caroline Joris, coordinator of the Broadcasting department at the Directorate General of External Communication of the FPS Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Kamal Taibi, founder of the Stratëus Group agency and professors Sara Mejdoubi, deputy director of Communication and Media at the College of Human Sciences of the UIR and Elise Le Moing-Maas, president of the Public Relations department at IHECS discussed the issues of boundaries between public and political communication, the role of public communication in citizen enrollment, the influence of public communication on the behavioural choices of individuals and the issues of trust between public institutions, the state and citizens. Hosted by Salma Haouach, deputy director general of the WBE and Forbes columnist, the conference addressed these issues from both a reflective and comparative point of view and generated rich and diverse discussions.
